Can Sleeping on Your Side Cause Breast Size Discrepancies

Sleeping on one’s side does not usually result in different sized breasts.
The adult breasts are two hemispherical sex organs located in the superficial layer of the pectoralis major muscle between the 2nd and 6th ribs and consist mainly of mammary glands and fatty tissue. Generally speaking, both breasts are symmetrical and sleeping on their sides does not cause a difference in size. Even if one breast is partially deformed by pressure, it can be restored to its original shape.
If one breast is significantly enlarged, there may be a congenital deformity, cyst, inflammation or tumor. Inflammation of the breast can cause swelling of the breast, and in advanced stages of breast cancer, lymphatic obstruction and “cellulite” can occur. If one breast is significantly reduced in size, it may be due to congenital underdevelopment.
If both breasts are not equal in size, please go to the hospital in time to see a doctor to clarify the cause of the disease and then carry out targeted treatment.
