What to do about tumor lymph node metastasis

Once lymph node metastasis occurs in a tumor, it depends on the site, number and size of lymph node metastasis as well as the symptoms of the tumor itself. For example, in lung cancer, if lymph node metastasis occurs in hilar lymph node, radical surgical resection of lung cancer as well as hilar lymph node dissection can be done for single case. If hilar lymph node metastasis is still reported after surgery, adjuvant chemotherapy can be used after surgery. If mediastinal lymph node metastasis occurs, the first choice of treatment is simultaneous radiotherapy, and radical surgical resection can be performed after the tumor and lymph nodes shrink. If radical surgical resection is not possible, chemotherapy plus immunotherapy can be used to maintain other cancers such as rectal cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, etc. Once lymph node metastasis occurs, the main treatment is based on surgery plus postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy.
