It is often used in the treatment of hemorrhagic gonorrhea (the appearance of blood in urine with pain), feverish gonorrhea (burning and tingling during urination, with frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort of traction in the abdomen), stony gonorrhea (discharging of sand and stones during urination, or sudden interruption of urination, pain in the urethra, and unbearable pain in the lower back and abdomen), drenching and astringent pain in urination, blood in urine, epistaxis, metrorrhagia (excessive menstruation or more than one drop of menstruation), and coughing with heat in the lungs and asthma. Shi Wei can be taken in decoction or in bulk, its adverse effects are not known, but it should be contraindicated for those who are allergic to the product.
