Proprietary Chinese Medicines for Strengthening the Spleen and Dispelling Dampness

There are many proprietary Chinese medicines to strengthen the spleen and dispel dampness (to expel dampness by tonifying the spleen), the most common of which are Pingtu Pills, Ginseng Ling Strengthening the Spleen and Stomach Granules, Xiangsha Liujunzi Pills and QiSen Pills. 1. Flat Stomach Pill: composed of Atractylodes macrocephala, Atractylodes macrocephala and Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, it has the effect of drying dampness, strengthening the spleen, broadening the chest and eliminating flatulence. It is used in treating dampness in the spleen and stomach, inappetence, distension and fullness in the epigastrium (abdomen), nausea and vomiting, acid swallowing (swallowing of acid in the stomach upward to the oropharynx) and belching (hiccups). 2. Ginseng Ling Strengthening the Spleen and Stomach Granules: composed of Poria, Atractylodes macrocephala, Chinese yam, lentils, etc., it has the effect of tonifying the spleen and strengthening the stomach, inducing dampness and stopping diarrhea. It is used in treating weak spleen and stomach, poor diet, diarrhea or vomiting, thinness, colorlessness and fatigue (mental exhaustion and physical weakness). 3. Qi Spleen Pill: Composed of ginseng and zedoary, it has the effect of strengthening the spleen and stomach (restoring the functions of the spleen and stomach), so it can be used for treating weakness of the spleen and stomach, indigestion, and abdominal distension and loose stools (thin and unformed feces). 4.
