Pre- and post-operative health education for neurosurgical patients with epilepsy

       Recently, there are more patients consulting epilepsy diseases, our neurosurgery department is summarizing some health education about epilepsy patients below and share it with you.  Pre-operative health education and guidance 1. Pre-operative routine examination and precautions (1) admission routine examination (such as: chest X-ray, ECG, MRI, etc.); (2) fasting blood test in the morning of the second person; (3) long-range EEG examination to confirm the diagnosis of epileptic lesions (stop taking anti-epileptic drugs before the examination) 2. (2) hand morning before the prohibition of diet; (3) hand morning measurement of vital signs; (4) guide the patient bed contact the use of urinals; (5) do a good job of patient psychological care, eliminate the patient’s fear of surgery and anxiety, enhance the treatment of the heart and chest, with a view to the treatment process and close cooperation with medical care, for early recovery.  Postoperative health education and guidance 1. Pay attention to rest and reduce sound and light stimulation; 2. Take antiepileptic drugs on time; 3. Pay more attention to diet and eat more coarse fiber and easily digestible food; 4. Keep stools unobstructed and avoid forceful stools to prevent intracranial bleeding; 5.  Discharge guidance 1, strengthen nutrition, eat more high-protein, coarse fiber food; 2, take anti-epileptic drugs on time, do not arbitrarily increase or decrease the amount of medication; 3, avoid participating in dangerous activities (such as driving, working at height, swimming, etc.) 4, pay attention to rest, maintain a good state of mind; 5, regular re-examination.
