There is no clinical statement about which one is more effective, but it is recommended that patients follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment. Mai Zhi Ling is a kind of Chinese patent medicine, with anti-inflammatory and pain relief, diuresis and dampness effect, commonly used in the treatment of varicose veins caused by various reasons, soft tissue swelling, hemorrhoidal varicose veins, and so on. Rivaroxaban is an anti-thrombotic western drug, which can prevent venous thrombosis and reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism. Therefore, the two drugs are not comparable and there is no claim that one is more effective than the other. Some patients may experience adverse reactions such as mild gastrointestinal discomfort after taking MaiZhiLing, but the contraindications are not clear, and gastric ulcer patients are advised to use with caution. For rivaroxaban, common adverse reactions include bleeding risk and spinal/epidural hematoma. If patients are allergic to excipients in rivaroxaban, obvious active bleeding, coagulation abnormalities, pregnant and lactating women, the drug is contraindicated. Patients are advised to take MaiZhiLing or Rivaroxaban according to their own conditions and under the guidance of a doctor, and not to use the drug or adjust the dosage on their own.
