Can women die from pituitary tumors?

Pituitary tumors in women may lead to death, but the specifics are usually determined by the size of the tumor and should be analyzed in the context of the specific condition. As the tumor grows, the patient gradually develops headaches, nausea and vomiting. If the tumor grows out of the saddle septum, it may cause visual impairment and decreased visual field, etc. It may severely compress the hypothalamus and nerve tissues such as the brainstem and cause endocrine disorders, such as causing thickening of the terminal limbs in women. If it is a huge pituitary tumor, it will compress the pituitary stalk, which may cause urinary collapse and is more likely to cause death. However, pituitary tumors are not always malignant diseases, and if they do not compress other nerves or tissues, they may only cause abnormal hormone secretion and do not cause death. Therefore, patients with pituitary tumors should not be too pessimistic, but should promptly go to the neurology department of the hospital, and pay attention to adjusting their mindset and actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment.
