Age-related deafness can be treated through health education, medication, wearing hearing aids and cochlear implants. 1. Health education: avoiding noise exposure, controlling blood pressure, blood lipids and blood sugar, avoiding ear-toxic medications, and correctly using medications for cardiovascular, hypertension, gastrointestinal, and central nervous system disorders as well as pain relievers. 2. Medication: The doctor will give the patient intravenous ginkgo biloba extract to improve microcirculation in the inner ear, or intravenous methylcobalamin to nourish the nerves. 3. Wearing hearing aids: For patients with mild or moderate hearing loss, doctors will consider wearing hearing aids to improve hearing. 4. Cochlear implantation: For patients who do not get obvious results after wearing hearing aids, or for patients with severe hearing loss, doctors will consider cochlear implantation. Complications such as wound infection, flap necrosis, meningitis, and electrode detachment may occur after the surgery. In addition, it is recommended that patients with senile deafness go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
