Laryngeal cancer is a malignant tumor occurring in the larynx, which is divided into supraglottic, infraglottic, subglottic and transglottic cancers, with the vocal cord as the boundary. The late symptoms of laryngeal cancer in different parts are different. 1.Supraglottic laryngeal cancer: when middle-aged and elderly people have itchy throat, foreign body sensation in the throat and discomfort in swallowing, they should be alert to supraglottic laryngeal cancer; because of its poor differentiation and rapid development, the tumor will soon invade the lymph nodes in the neck, causing enlargement of lymph nodes in the neck; if it continues to infiltrate deeper, persistent laryngeal pain may appear in the late stage and radiates to the ipsilateral ear; when there is difficulty in breathing or swallowing, coughing, blood in sputum or coughing up blood, it is already a late stage symptom. When dyspnea or dysphagia, cough, blood in sputum or coughing up blood appear, it is already a late symptom. 2.Vocal tumor: the first symptom of malignant tumor occurring in the vocal tract is mostly voice change, initially hoarseness, with the increase of tumor, hoarseness will gradually aggravate, which may lead to coarse and mute voice or even loss of voice; in the late stage, the tumor develops to the upper or lower vocal tract, in addition to severe hoarseness or loss of voice, radiating ear pain, difficulty in breathing, swallowing, frequent cough, difficulty in coughing sputum and bad breath may also appear. Finally, death may occur due to hemorrhage, aspiration pneumonia or cachexia. 3.Subsonic vocal tract cancer: irritating cough and coughing blood may appear in the late stage. As the subsonic vocal tract is blocked by tumor, patients often feel difficulty in breathing. 4.Transvocal cancer: Hoarseness and enlargement of larynx are the main symptoms.
