How to Treat Inflammation of Pubic Follicles

Inflammation of the hair follicles at the pubic area is vulvar folliculitis, an acute purulent infection caused by bacteria invading the hair follicles and the sebaceous glands to which they belong. It can be treated by general treatment, topical medication and oral medication. 1. General treatment: keep the vulva clean, change underwear regularly, wash the vulva regularly, avoid eating spicy food or drinking alcohol. 2. Topical medication: If there are pustules, use sterilized needle to puncture them and apply 1% neomycin ointment or 2% mupirocin ointment and other topical antibiotics locally, or apply 2% iodine tincture or 1% gentian violet. 3. Oral medication; when the lesions are more extensive, oral cephalosporin antibiotics such as cefprozil.
