The disappearance of pharyngeal crypt is commonly seen in CT report, which refers to the appearance of new tissues or thickening of the original soft tissues in the pharyngeal crypt of nasopharynx, which is commonly seen in inflammatory reaction or tumor.
1. Inflammatory reaction: such as chronic nasopharyngitis, pharyngeal cystitis, etc., if the patient’s body has long-term inflammation phenomenon, and not timely treatment, may stimulate the pharyngeal tissues to produce hyperplasia or glandular hypertrophy, and at this time, the patient may appear pharyngeal crypt disappearance.
2. Tumor: If there are cysts, carcinomas and other abnormal growths in nasopharynx, the relationship between the swelling and the pharyngeal tube is close, and the lesion spreads to the pharyngeal crypt, it may lead to the disappearance of the pharyngeal crypt on one side or both sides.
