Sitting for more than 6 hours, more likely to get diabetes!

Research at Kansas State University found that people who sit still for more than six hours a day have a significantly higher risk of developing diabetes. Because when you sit down, the electrical activity inside the muscles is reduced, while the calorie burning rate drops to one calorie per minute, which is one-third of the calories you burn when you walk. And sedentary people eat too much food containing high fat, high sugar, high protein, exercise less, resulting in the accumulation of body fat, which develops into diabetes. Some young people with a “general belly” are good candidates for diabetes. The risk factors for diabetes include age ≥ 45 years, overweight or obesity, abdominal obesity, family history, cardiovascular disease (three high), and average daily sedentary time of more than 6 hours. Therefore, we note that office workers and drivers are the “high-risk” groups, the white-collar workers with diabetes are even worse, if sitting too long, exercise to make up for the damage is minimal. Experts recommend that sitting time of no more than 4 hours a day, should often get up and move. In other words, if you sit in a chair for more than 6 hours today, you must reach at least 3.5 hours of exercise every day, and it is almost impossible to get as much as you want. For the working class how to take out the time between work to increase exercise? The first should be from the usual details, brain workers to avoid sedentary as far as possible, to further reduce the time of sedentary, every once in a while to get up and walk around, such as every 1 to 2 hours of work, take out 3 to 5 minutes to do a stretching activities of the limbs or get up to pour a glass of water, go to the corridor to turn around, look far away, relax the spirit. The second should change the way to and from work. For example, if you drive to work, deliberately park far away from the unit and walk to the unit; walk around the parking lot twice before picking up the car at the end of the day. If the floor is not high, try to climb the stairs. If you take the bus, you can try to get off one stop earlier and walk a bit. If the distance is not too far, you can choose to commute to work by bike. These are all ways to reduce static lifestyle. Thirdly, make full use of meal times and try to walk to restaurants on your own. Even if you order takeout, you can use the few minutes before eating to move around, and then move around a half hour after the meal. Of course, from the nutritional point of view, the take-out fast food box lunch is an unbalanced meal, salt and fat are often over the limit, green leafy vegetables are not enough, it is best to eat more vegetables, fruits and potatoes, and drink less sweet drinks. Sedentary people are a group of busy, stressed people who know they need to exercise, but always use work as an excuse to delay taking action. Therefore to stay away from diabetes, in addition to the genetic factors that cannot be changed, the most important thing is to learn to see the exercise.
