Treatment of synovial cysts

Synovial cyst is a benign cystic mass attached to the joint capsule, tendon sheath or synovial fluid sac. Clinically, depending on the size of the cyst and compression of the surrounding tissues and nerves, it can usually be treated with conservative treatment and surgery. 1. Conservative treatment: It is suitable for small synovial cysts, which can be treated with ultrasound, heat therapy and other physical therapy methods, or through injection therapy, injecting steroid hormones after extracting the cystic fluid, which can stimulate the regulation of muscles, protect synovial membrane, promote the absorption of joint fluid, and alleviate the symptoms of pain. 2. Surgery: If the synovial cyst is large and affects the joint activities, if conservative treatment is ineffective, or if the cyst recurs, surgery can be considered to remove the cyst so that the joint function can return to normal as soon as possible. Patients with synovial cysts do not need special treatment if the cysts are small and have no discomfort. If discomfort occurs, it is recommended to consult a doctor for timely examination and standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
