What are the criteria for atherosclerosis detection indicators

Atherosclerosis detection indexes include pulse wave conduction velocity, dynamic atherosclerosis index, etc. The normal value of pulse wave conduction velocity varies according to different blood vessels, and the dynamic atherosclerosis index is normally less than 4.
1. Pulse wave conduction velocity: its normal value is different according to different blood vessels, for example, the lower limit of conduction rate of aortic segment is 3~5m/s. Elevated pulse wave conduction velocity is an independent risk factor for the development of cardiovascular disease. Elevated pulse wave conduction velocity suggests the occurrence of vascular aging, atherosclerosis and other functional and structural changes of blood vessels. For every 1m/s increase in aortic PWV, there is a 14% increase in cardiovascular events.
2. Dynamic atherosclerosis index: The dynamic atherosclerosis index is normally less than 4. The faster the dynamic atherosclerosis index is, the less elastic the artery is, and the higher the stiffness is. Dynamic atherosclerosis index reflects the change of elastic function of arteries.
If the above indexes are abnormal, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to avoid delaying the condition.
