Facial paralysis includes central facial paralysis and peripheral facial paralysis, Chinese medicine believes that facial paralysis is mostly caused by wind and phlegm obstruction, so it can be given as the basis of the formula to add and subtract the identification of the treatment, and it is more effective to make the powder than the soup. If the patient has nystagmus, we can add tianma, hookah and shihduiming to calm the liver and quench the wind, tianma has the effect of calming the liver and submerging the yang, hookah also has the effect of calming the liver and wind. As for the three herbs in the formula, white aconite has the efficacy of dispelling wind, resolving phlegm and clearing collaterals, while stiff silkworms and whole scorpion can also have the clinical effects of quenching wind, resolving phlegm and calming the body. The treatment of facial paralysis can also be combined with acupuncture in TCM.
