After minimally invasive lumbar disc herniation surgery, patients are usually able to get out of bed the day after surgery wearing a waist cuff. There are many minimally invasive lumbar disc surgeries, including radiofrequency ablation, intervertebral foramenoscopy, and discoscopy. Regardless of the type of technique, recovery is usually faster due to less trauma to the patient during the surgery. In the case of intervertebral foramenoscopy, for example, the surgical incision is usually about 1cm, and the patient can get out of bed and walk slowly with a girdle on the day after the surgery. The usual time to wear a waist cuff is about one month after surgery, which can stabilize the lumbar spine and prevent the recurrence of a herniated disc.
