The exact location of Broken Red is on the back of the hand, between the 2nd and 3rd metacarpal bones, 1 inch below the tip of the finger, taken with clenched fist.
Broken Red Point belongs to the Meridian Extraordinary Points and has a good hemostatic effect. It is commonly used clinically for treating excessive menstruation and women’s disintegration (excessive menstruation or dribbling) and other conditions.
Clinically, the Red Point can be used in conjunction with Guanyuan, Sanyinjiao, Yinbai and other acupoints for the treatment of leakage; and it can be used in conjunction with Dadun, Yinbai and the Sea of Blood for the treatment of excessive menstruation.
The red-breaking point can be clinically treated with millimetre needles as well as moxibustion.
