Indications for fresh frozen plasma

Fresh frozen plasma is used in ICU and hematology in two areas: on the one hand, it is used for coagulation abnormalities, replenishing fresh clotting factors, and in some cases, it is used to replenish the lost plasma of patients when doing plasma exchange, which are currently the two main indications. Blood products are now prohibited by national law, transfusion of whole blood, transfusion of common blood products are red blood cells, mainly to improve the patient’s blood oxygen capacity. On the other hand, platelets are anticoagulant, and white blood cells, which are mainly the body’s immune cells and are used to protect the body against viruses and resistant bacteria. Plasma components are mainly coagulation factors and some albumin components, mainly used for some obvious abnormalities, with liver failure, infections or after obstetrical and gynecological amniotic fluid embolism with massive depletion of coagulation factors, and then plasma is used to replenish the coagulation factors to avoid and treat extensive bleeding.
