Quadruple therapy refers to the choice of proton pump inhibitors, bismuth combined with two antibiotics to treat H. pylori, and is not used to treat flatulence, but can treat flatulence caused by H. pylori infection.
1. Proton pump inhibitors: Proton pump inhibitors are used to relieve flatulence by inhibiting the secretion of gastric acid. Commonly used proton pump inhibitor drugs include omeprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole and so on.
2. Bismuth: Bismuth can precipitate in acidic environment and form a protective film on the surface of gastric mucosa, which promotes the healing of gastric mucosa. Bismuth also has a certain bactericidal effect, commonly used drugs are colloidal bismuth pectin, bismuth potassium citrate and so on.
3. Two antibiotics: Amoxicillin, clarithromycin, metronidazole, etc. are generally preferred in quadruple therapy. Antibiotics can effectively kill Helicobacter pylori and reduce recurrence of gastritis and gastric ulcer.
Patients with symptoms such as flatulence should immediately go to the hospital for examination and formal treatment, while paying attention to daily diet to avoid aggravation of the condition.
