Is there any other treatment for pancreatic cancer that cannot be removed surgically?

Pancreatic cancer is a common malignant tumor of the digestive system, and its incidence has increased 3 to 7 times in the last 30 years. In the United States, the mortality rate is the 4th of all malignant tumors. The incidence of pancreatic cancer in China is also increasing year by year, and the overall 5-year survival rate of pancreatic cancer is only 1% to 4% due to its high malignancy. Radical surgery is the most effective treatment for pancreatic cancer. 80% to 85% of patients with pancreatic cancer are already in the middle and late stages when diagnosed and are inoperable, with a 1-year survival rate of only 10% and a median survival of only 3 to 6 months. Due to the application of techniques such as hepatic artery infusion chemoembolization (TACE) in recent years, the treatment of intermediate and advanced pancreatic cancer has achieved certain efficacy and may be able to control the progression of the lesion by increasing the local drug concentration in liver metastases and the primary focus of the pancreas to take advantage of its treatment. Chinese medicine has a long history and an important position in the treatment of malignant tumors. We believe that the important or key link in the development of pancreatic cancer is the formation of “dampness, heat and toxicity”. The method of clearing heat and resolving accumulation is formulated in response to the etiology and pathogenesis of pancreatic cancer. Previous clinical studies found that the long-term efficacy of chemotherapy combined with pancreatic heat and accumulation-clearing herbal medicine is significantly better than that of chemotherapy alone, which can significantly improve the quality of life and prolong the survival of patients.
