You can usually drink Sodium Phosphate Salt Oral Solution when you have high blood pressure, but you need to take it under the supervision of your physician.
Sodium Phosphate Salt Oral Solution is used to cleanse the bowel in patients prior to colon, x-ray and intestinal endoscopy or prior to surgery. It is contraindicated in patients with congenital megacolon, intestinal obstruction, ascites, congestive heart failure or renal failure.
Adverse reactions such as nausea, vomiting, gastric distension, hiatal hernia, diarrhea, fatigue, dizziness, allergic reactions, elevated ALT, AST in liver function tests, anal irritation and transient electrolyte disorders may occur after administration of Sodium Phosphate Salt Oral Solution. Overdosage may result in hyperphosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia, hypernatremia, and dehydration, and occasionally salivation (drooling).
Care should also be taken to control the dose of this product and to prohibit combining it with other diarrhea-relieving drugs. Plasma electrolytes should be checked if the drug is administered repeatedly. Drink plenty of water before the patient ingests the drug for the second time. It should also be kept out of the reach of children. In case of overdose into accidental ingestion, seek medical attention.
