Is it normal to have a low Glutamine-Glutamine ratio of 0.7?

Glutamate/glutamate ratio refers to glutamate aminotransferase/glutamate aminotransferase in liver function tests in the clinic, and 0.7 is on the low side and does not belong to the normal range, but whether it is indicative of a disease or not needs to be combined with the patient’s symptoms and other test indicators.

The normal reference value for AST/ALT is around 1. AST/ALT exists in the liver cell plasma, and ALT mainly exists in the mitochondria of liver cells. In mild hepatocellular disease, liver cells are damaged, but the mitochondria remain intact, and only ALT is released into the blood; when the disease worsens, the mitochondria are destroyed, and the ALT will rise.

If AST and ALT are significantly elevated, and the AST/ALT ratio decreases, it is common in acute hepatitis and mild hepatitis, and the AST/ALT ratio increases, it is common in chronic cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.

If AST, ALT and liver ultrasound are normal, combined with the doctor’s judgment that there is no manifestation of liver injury, simply low AST/ALT does not have clinical significance, timely follow-up.
