Can you get a flu shot with an egg allergy?

The flu vaccine contains very little egg, so people who are usually allergic to eggs can receive the flu vaccine.
The influenza vaccine, also known as the influenza virus lysate vaccine, is made by inoculating chicken embryos with the current year’s prevalent strain of influenza virus. Influenza vaccination provides immunity to the influenza virus, but not permanent immunity.
Contraindications to influenza vaccination include acute and chronic illnesses, colds and fever, acute exacerbation of chronic diseases, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and allergy to adjuvants and other ingredients in the vaccine.
Since the influenza vaccine contains very little egg protein, people who are allergic to eggs can receive the influenza vaccine, and the active ingredients in the vaccine may cause some milder adverse reactions after vaccination. Therefore, attention needs to be paid to the post-vaccination stay.
