Varicose veins are treated by home treatment and surgery. 1. Home treatment: The methods include wearing compression stockings, maintaining adequate exercise, supporting the lower limbs and avoiding sedentary or prolonged standing. These methods can help to reduce symptoms and prevent further aggravation of varicose veins. 2. Surgical treatment: laser treatment, ligation and stripping, phlebectomy, radiofrequency treatment, sclerotherapy and so on. (1) Laser treatment: There are simple laser treatment and endovenous laser treatment, which can scar and destroy varicose veins. Simple laser treatment is used for small veins and endovenous laser treatment is performed with a laser fiber inserted into the vein. (2) Ligation and Stripping: The area of the varicose vein is cut, ligated and the vein removed. (3) Phlebectomy: a small incision is made in the skin and the vein is removed through the incision. (4) Radiofrequency treatment: for lower limb varicose veins with relatively large closure, the veins are scarred and closed by radiofrequency energy. (5) Sclerotherapy: injection of sclerosing agent into the varicose vein to destroy and scar the vein, applicable to small veins. In case of varicose veins, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and choose the appropriate treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
