What is the cause of finger and toe ulcers?

Toe ulcers are most commonly caused by endocrine abnormalities such as diabetes mellitus or lower limb vascular disease, fungal infections and other diseases that cause ulceration and necrosis of the skin or deeper tissues of the toes. It is more common in people with a history of diabetes or peripheral vascular disease, and the degree of progression is closely related to the control of the underlying disease.
