What is the cause of toe ulceration in cerebral infarction?

Most patients with cerebral infarction have atherosclerosis of the local blood vessels in the toes due to high risk factors such as elevated lipids and viscous blood, reduced regulation of blood supply, luminal stenosis or thrombosis and inadequate establishment of collateral circulation, in addition to compensatory vasodilation, reduced response to vasodilators and increased contractile factors in the circulation, as well as some blood rheology abnormalities.
