Treatment of gastrointestinal non-absorption

The cause of gastrointestinal non-absorption should be identified, which may be physiological or pathological; physiological causes need to adjust the dietary habits, and pathologically caused by the need for targeted treatment under the guidance of the doctor, such as drug therapy, surgical treatment and so on.
1. Physiological: if the patient likes to eat fried, greasy, hypertonic and hard food, it will prevent the stomach and intestines from absorbing and digesting these foods. Patients need to improve their diet, which should be light, soft, tender, low-fiber and nutritious, and usually no special treatment is needed.
2. Pathologic:
(1) Gastrointestinal non-absorption caused by acute gastroenteritis is often accompanied by abdominal pain, diarrhea, abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms. Commonly used drugs are antispasmodic and analgesic drugs such as compound belladonna tablets, antidiarrheal drugs such as montelukast, and antibiotics such as compound sulfamethoxazole are considered for patients with bacterial infection.
(2) Ulcerative colitis caused by gastrointestinal non-absorption, often accompanied by diarrhea, abdominal pain, mucus, pus and blood stools and other symptoms. Commonly used drugs are aminosalicylic acid preparations such as mesalazine, glucocorticoids such as prednisone, immunosuppressants such as azathioprine; if necessary, surgical treatment is needed, such as total colorectal resection plus ileal storage bag anal canal anastomosis.
There are more causes of gastrointestinal non-absorption, which may also be caused by other factors. When the symptoms are obvious, if the adjustment of diet is not obvious, we should go to the hospital in time to clarify the cause of the disease, and follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the use of drugs and treatment.
