Things to keep in mind when receiving interferon therapy

The side effects of interferon must be known: ①Chills and fever and general discomfort may occur during the first 3 days of injection, which will gradually disappear after 3 consecutive days of injection. Take one indomethacin (anti-inflammatory pain) tablet one hour before the first injection of interferon to reduce this reaction. If you have a high fever of more than 39℃ and severe headache after interferon injection, you can take one tablet of anti-inflammatory pain every 4-6 hours (if you have stomach problems, you should not take anti-inflammatory pain tablets, but the fever will subside after a few hours); ② White blood cells or platelets may decrease during the medication, so you should check the blood routine regularly; ③ Some people have hair loss after the medication, but it is not serious, and it can generally recover after stopping the medication; ④ A few patients have a transient increase in transaminases after the medication The transaminase may be transiently elevated in a few patients (which may be a precursor of viral conversion), and most of them will improve after continuing the medication; ⑤ Interferon is not recommended for people with pre-existing thyroid disease, diabetes, severe neurasthenia, depression, autoimmune disease, severe heart disease, epilepsy, etc. Before using the medication, relevant tests should be done, including liver function, blood sugar, blood routine, hepatitis B antigen quantification, HBV DNA, methotrexate, etc. If necessary, kidney, thyroid and autoantibodies should also be checked. Generally, liver function, blood routine, hepatitis B antigen quantification, HBV DNA, etc. are checked one month, three months and six months after the drug is administered. It is very important to review your treatment on time after treatment, because your doctor needs to adjust your treatment plan correctly and timely according to your test results.
