Can a cat infected with a novel coronavirus infect humans?

There is no evidence that the novel coronavirus infection in cats is transmissible to humans, and the most common source of infection is a patient with pneumonia infected with the novel coronavirus. The coronavirus that cats can be infected with belongs to the genus alpha, and the novel coronavirus in this case belongs to the genus beta, which are not the same. Cats are not infected with the novel coronavirus, and people are not infected by cats, so do not believe the rumors. However, after contact with pets, it is good hygiene measures to wash hands with soap to prevent the spread of other more common bacteria, such as E. coli, between humans and cats.
