Does AIDS cause herpes?

AIDS does not necessarily cause herpes, but herpes symptoms usually occur when AIDS is combined with herpes virus infection.
AIDS is a systemic disease caused by the infection of the body with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), causing a variety of infections and tumors. In the early stage, some patients may have non-specific clinical symptoms similar to the flu, such as fever, general malaise, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, as well as sore throat, arthralgia, and enlarged lymph nodes.
When progressing to the AIDS stage, various opportunistic infections can occur. Herpes occurs when combined with herpes virus infections such as herpes zoster virus and herpes simplex virus.
If HIV infection is suspected, it is recommended to consult a doctor for a clear diagnosis in time to avoid delay.
