Do you often sweat profusely on the palms of your hands or feet, especially during the hot summer months? Do you feel that persistent sweaty palms or feet have brought great inconvenience to your study, life and work? Do your sweaty feet make you afraid to take off your shoes in public in spring, summer, fall or winter, and your feet smell too bad? Most importantly, is it because the non-stop sweating has seriously hampered your normal social activities and psychological state? In fact, the above series of symptoms is exactly palm and foot hyperhidrosis, which is a very common disease, and at the same time, it is also treatable! First of all, what is hyperhidrosis? In medicine, we are so defined: 1, unexplained excessive sweating for at least 6 months; 2, affecting normal daily activities; 3, weekly bilateral or relatively symmetrical parts of the sweat at least once; 4, the age of less than 25 years old; 5, there is a family history. If you meet three of the above five conditions, you can be considered to have suffered from hyperhidrosis of the palms and feet! In fact, the incidence rate in China is not low, about 2% or so, and about 0.3% among young people aged 10-30. Especially in the south, there are relatively more patients with profuse sweating, and relatively fewer in the north. As for in the treatment mode, our routine generally have five kinds: 1, injection treatment: A type botulinum toxin 2, topical drug treatment: 10% ~ 30% aluminum chloride anhydrous alcohol solution 3, internal drug treatment: anticholinergic drugs, antidepressants or sedative drugs and so on. Such as oral atropine, scopolamine, scopolamine. 4, physical therapy: 2~3 times a week for aluminum chloride for ion introduction therapy. 5, surgical treatment: endoscopic T2~4 sympathetic nerve severance. The following is a description of the above several treatment methods. 1, on the palm of the hand coated with aluminum chloride, there will be a certain antiperspirant effect, but the probability of skin infection is greater, such as folliculitis. 2, on the oral medication, generally also be able to temporarily stop sweating, but after eating the drug there will be a dry mouth, nausea, lethargy symptoms. 3, the ion implantation method, basically every two days to come to the hospital to accept the treatment, a relatively waste of time. 4, the effect of surgery is generally a waste of time. 5, surgical treatment: endoscopic T2 ~ 4 sympathetic nerve cut. 4, the effect of surgery will generally be very good, but is a trauma surgery, there are certain complications, such as pneumothorax. Also, it can lead to more sweating in the chest and abdomen than before, which we medically call compensatory hyperhidrosis. Here, we focus on Botox injections. There is also a lot of research on Botox injections, and the research on the injection dose as well as local anesthesia is also very deep and mature. Basically, the whole process of injection is very painful, and the average effect of one injection can be maintained for about a year. If you want to continue the treatment later, you can still inject, and will not affect the efficacy of the whole process can be said to be time-saving, safe and effective, patients do not have to worry too much. However, after the injection, patients will experience temporary muscle weakness in the hand, which usually recovers in about 2 weeks, so it is recommended that patients treat one hand first.
