What causes scapular adhesions?

There is no clinical term for scapular adhesion, which usually refers to shoulder joint adhesion. Shoulder joint adhesion is considered to be related to rotator cuff injury, frozen shoulder, shoulder fracture and so on.
1. Rotator cuff injury: rotator cuff injury is related to indirect violence, degeneration and chronic strain. Typical symptoms of patients are shoulder pain, shoulder joint popping, localized swelling and activity limitation, etc. Some patients can be seen shoulder joint adhesion and shoulder joint dislocation during medical examination.
2. Frozen shoulder: the cause of the disease has not been fully clarified, and it may be related to the degenerative changes of soft tissues and excessive activities. Patients mainly suffer from shoulder joint pain and activity limitation, and some of them can also be seen with shoulder joint adhesion and muscle atrophy during medical examination.
3. Shoulder fracture: some patients with shoulder fracture will also have adhesion in the shoulder joint. The fracture is related to violence and strain, and patients mainly show local pain, swelling, ecchymosis, dysfunction and deformity.
It is suggested that people with adhesion of shoulder joint should have further detailed examination so as to clarify the cause of the disease and then follow the doctor’s instruction for treatment. Pay attention to the care of shoulder in daily life, and avoid external impact or lifting heavy objects.
