Classification of gallbladder polyps

In China, with the widespread use of ultrasound technology, the detection rate of gallbladder polyp-like lesions is increasing, and their clinical and pathological characteristics and the timing of surgery have been widely studied. If the gallbladder polyp is larger than 1 cm, it is better to be treated surgically first to prevent the occurrence of cancer. Gallbladder polyps are pathologically papillary adenomas, which are a general abbreviation for various benign elevations of the gallbladder mucosa, and can be solitary, but are often multiple. The main gallbladder polyp lesions include: cholesterol polyps, inflammatory polyps, adenomatous polyps, adenomyoma, and mixed polyps.
