Swelling and pain in the lower eyelid, which may be caused by bacterial infection of the wheals, is mainly treated with the use of anti-inflammatory drugs, usually antibiotic drops, such as levofloxacin drops or tobramycin drops, for the corresponding anti-inflammatory treatment. Tobramycin eye ointment or ofloxacin eye ointment can be used at bedtime for nighttime antibiotic coverage treatment. If the effect of the drops and ointment is not satisfactory and the redness and pain of the lower eyelid has a significant tendency to be severe, oral antibiotics such as cephalosporin or amoxicillin can be administered, provided that they are taken without allergy. The combination of drugs will control the severity of the wheals and will gradually reduce the redness and pain.
