Positive urine test for pregnancy

A positive urine test indicates a positive pregnancy, corresponding to a serum HCG value of 25 U/L. In addition to normal pregnancy, a positive urine test should be considered for the following diseases: 1. ectopic pregnancy, serum HCG and serum progesterone tests and B-mode ultrasound are available to clarify the diagnosis. 2. gestational trophoblastic disease, such as hyperemesis gravidarum. The serum HCG is maintained at a high level, often greater than 100,000 U/L. B-mode ultrasound shows that the uterine cavity is filled with inhomogeneous dense or short striped echogenicity in the shape of “falling snow”, or “honeycomb” when the blisters are large. The tumors that secrete HCG include hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, intestinal cancer, ovarian adenocarcinoma, gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, etc. Also, hepatocellular tumor, ovarian asexual cell tumor, and immature teratoma can also secrete HCG.
