It is best to avoid intercourse, vaginal douching and medication for up to 24 hours before the cervical screening test. This is because intercourse, vaginal douching and medication can disrupt the vaginal environment and affect the results of the cervical screening. Cervical screening is a cytological TCT and virological HPV test that is usually done three days after menstruation. However, there are some people who have bleeding after intercourse, so it is highly suspected that there is bleeding caused by cervical lesions, so it is possible to do cervical screening at any time without being bound to have sex. If there is no bleeding after intercourse, we recommend not to have intercourse within 24 hours and not to do vaginal douching and medication, as the results of the cervical screening will be more accurate.
