What kind of patients can undergo laparoscopic cholecystectomy? The procedure and what to look for

  Day surgery for laparoscopic cholecystectomy has been performed in our hospital since 2008 and has been promoted nationwide. Especially after the hospital opened a special day ward in 2013, it has developed by leaps and bounds, and now 70-100 cases are performed every month. The majority of laparoscopic cholecystectomies in our department are routinely performed in the day ward and no serious complications have occurred so far.  What kind of patients can undergo ambulatory laparoscopic cholecystectomy?  Currently, the following conditions must be met: under 60 years of age; no serious comorbidities such as uncontrolled hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes mellitus.  What is the specific procedure?  1. Go to the outpatient clinic on an empty stomach for a comprehensive preoperative evaluation, including blood tests (routine blood count, clotting series, liver and kidney function, electrolytes and fasting glucose), ECG and chest X-ray; 2. Discharge the next day.  What should I pay attention to after being discharged the next morning after surgery?  1.The next morning, you can eat semi-liquid, after that, you can gradually return to normal diet according to your personal condition; 2.A week or so after surgery, you can go to the clinic to remove the stitches, and after the removal of the stitches, you can take a normal bath; 3.A fever below 38 degrees is normal within a few days after surgery, no special treatment is needed; 4.If the following conditions occur, you need to go to the hospital: severe abdominal pain; jaundice; high fever >38.5 degrees.
