Gallbladder polyps are relatively common clinically and generally do not require treatment if they are asymptomatic. Surgical treatment is recommended for those with the following conditions (1) Single lesion, larger than 10 mm, with a thick tip, especially if it is located in the neck of the gallbladder and older. (2) Multiple lesions with gallbladder stones, symptomatic, and older than 50 years of age. (3) Doppler ultrasound examination of the lesion with abundant blood supply suggests malignant neoplasm. (4)Tumor indexes CA19-9,CA50,CA242,CA724,CEA are significantly elevated and other gastrointestinal tumors are excluded. (5) Gallbladder polyp-like lesions with obvious symptoms and recurrence. (6) Asymptomatic patients with diameter less than 5 mm should be followed up at intervals of 3 to 5 months. Once the lesion is enlarged or symptomatic, surgery should be performed.
