How to read the anticardiolipin report card

The anticardiolipin report is considered to be a report of anticardiolipin antibodies. Negative anticardiolipin antibody test results and indicators in the normal range indicate that the indicator is normal. Anti-cardiolipin antibodies are autoimmune antibodies that are formed by the binding of negatively charged cardiolipin on the membranes of platelets and vascular endothelial cells. It can help to diagnose antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, myocardial infarction, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases, and also has an auxiliary diagnostic function for habitual abortion, thrombocytopenia and other diseases. In the quantitative examination of anticardiolipin antibody, the quantification of anticardiolipin antibody IgM and IgG quantification are from 0 to 12U/ml, and the reference ranges are not exactly the same depending on the instrument, so it is necessary to combine with the reference value to determine whether the result is normal or not. In the qualitative test of anticardiolipin antibody, negative means that the result is not abnormal, while positive means abnormal; in the quantitative test, the result is out of the normal range means that there is an abnormality of anticardiolipin antibody, and it is necessary to further check the blood routine, electrocardiogram, and rheumatism four items to find out the cause.
