Modified minimally invasive stripping combined with electrocoagulation for varicose veins of the lower extremities

We innovatively use modified minimally invasive stripping combined with electrocoagulation to treat varicose veins in the lower extremities, preserving the superficial iliac vein, superficial abdominal wall vein, and external pubic vein to ensure local blood return, eliminating the need for large incisions to free and ligate each of the five major branches of the saphenous vein as in traditional surgery, reducing surgical trauma, shortening operative time, and also reducing the risk of damage to the femoral vein, postoperative wound infection, and lymphatic leakage. The risk of injury to the femoral vein, postoperative wound infection and lymphatic leakage is also reduced. We apply homemade coagulation needle to occlude the preoperative marked varicose vein mass, which reduces the incision. The two incisions that must be made routinely are located in the inguinal groin and the inner ankle, both of which are concealed, and the size of the incision is 0.8-1 cm, and the adhesive incision does not require stitch removal. It reduces the trauma and achieves the aesthetic requirements at the same time. The modified minimally invasive saphenous vein stripping combined with electrocoagulation anatomically eliminates the reflux of the saphenous vein and strips the main trunk of the saphenous vein, and individualizes the treatment for patients with high risk factors for recurrence, which is safe and effective, while reducing the size of the incision and achieving minimally invasive cosmetic results. After the surgery, the patient can go down to the ground on the same day and take care of himself, which minimizes the impact on work life. Surgery should be performed in the following cases of varicose veins in the lower limbs: stasis dermatitis, skin pigmentation, superficial phlebitis, superficial vein thrombosis, venous rupture and bleeding, skin ulcers, etc. Surgery should also be considered when the varicose veins are severe and affect the life with soreness and discomfort in the lower limbs, and in combination with the different requirements of different ages and genders for aesthetic treatment.
