Patients with thyroid cancer can eat cilantro. Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor of the thyroid gland. Most patients with thyroid cancer have no obvious clinical symptoms in the early stage, and often consult the doctor with painless thyroid lumps or nodules, and most of them are found in physical examination. Signs of thyroid cancer are mainly enlargement of thyroid gland or nodule, adhesion with surrounding tissues, unclear boundary, hard texture and gradual enlargement. Thyroid cancer may compress the surrounding tissues and nerves, resulting in other symptoms, such as respiratory difficulties due to compression of the trachea and hoarseness due to compression of the recurrent laryngeal nerve. Once thyroid cancer is diagnosed, surgical resection (e.g. subtotal thyroidectomy or total thyroidectomy) is recommended, and iodine 131 treatment is given after surgery. If there is insufficient or no thyroxine secretion after surgery, levothyroxine tablets need to be taken as replacement therapy. Thyroid cancer patients diet avoid high iodine food, because the iodine content in cilantro is not high, so cilantro can be eaten in moderation.
