Vertebral artery calcification is generally not curable.
Vertebral artery calcification is mainly due to the accumulation of calcium and lipid substances in the intima of the vertebral artery or epithelial cell detachment and cause local arterial plaque, which is directly related to hypertension, high blood pressure, and so on.
Calcification of the vertebral artery suggests that the plaque is a stable plaque that cannot be cured and can be intervened and treated. If it does not lead to stenosis, the main control of risk factors; if it leads to stenosis, mild-moderate stenosis, aspirin, atorvastatin and other anti-platelet aggregation, plaque stabilizing drugs can be given symptomatic treatment; if severe stenosis, interventional surgery can be given.
People with calcification of the vertebral artery are advised to consult a professional physician for early intervention and, if necessary, appropriate treatment, and not to blindly self-medication.
