What does TRUST negative mean?

A negative TRUST means a negative toluidine red non-heating serological test. This is a test associated with a person infected with syphilis spirochetes, and if it is negative, it means that a person is most likely not in the state following a syphilis spirochete infection, i.e., most likely not a syphilis patient. However, because the antigen used is not the antigen of the syphilis spirochete, but the antigen of the non-syphilis spirochete, a negative test does not absolutely rule out syphilis infection. The antigen of the syphilis spirochete needs to be applied for testing, mostly using the syphilis spirochete antibody particle agglutination test, or TPPA for short. If this test is negative, only then can it be stated that a person has not been infected with the syphilis spirochete and is not a syphilis patient. If the TPPA test is positive, it means that a person has been infected with syphilis spirochetes and is a syphilis patient. However, a negative toluidine red non-heating serological test indicates that the person with syphilis has probably undergone more effective treatment and is now considered to be in a cured state.
