What is a pelvic nodule?

Pelvic nodules are reported in gynecologic ultrasound. Pelvic nodules are more common in women of childbearing age, such as ovarian cysts, corpus luteum cysts, uterine fibroids, and uterine adenomyomas, which grow slowly and do not adversely affect a woman’s body. If the pelvic nodules grow faster, such as ovarian cysts, corpus luteum cysts of 5 cm or more in diameter or uterine fibroids of 5 cm or more with symptoms of compression, they need to be treated with surgery in a timely manner. In rare cases, pelvic nodules may be caused by ovarian malignancy, endometrial malignancy, etc. Blood tests for CA125, AFP and other tumor markers may also be elevated, and pathological biopsy is required to confirm the nature and extent of the lesion.
