What are the symptoms of placental abruption?

Placental abruption may present with symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain, usually accompanied by persistent uterine contractions, and in severe cases, symptoms of shock.
1. Vaginal bleeding: vaginal bleeding is the most common symptom of placenta previa, which is mainly characterized by stale non-coagulated blood.
2. Abdominal pain: it is mainly characterized by sudden onset of persistent abdominal pain, and the degree of pain is related to the amount of blood accumulated behind the placenta.
3. Persistent uterine contractions: Placental abruption may present with persistent uterine contractions, accompanied by obvious lumbar and low back pain. The pain is more pronounced when the uterus is pressed.
4. Shock: Placental abruption is a serious complication of late pregnancy, the disease progresses quickly, and severe patients may have symptoms of shock such as pale face, weak pulse and decreased blood pressure.
After the delivery of the placenta previa fetus needs to be given uterine contraction drugs as prescribed by the doctor immediately to prevent postpartum hemorrhage, such as contractin, ergometrine and so on. For placenta abruption is serious or endangers the life of the fetus, timely surgery is needed to terminate the pregnancy.
Pregnant women with severe abdominal pain or sudden heavy bleeding should be taken seriously and go to the hospital in time for treatment.
