What are multiple ground glass nodules?

Multiple ground glass nodules are pathological descriptions of the lungs found by imaging. Most of them are usually caused by an inflammatory response, and the pathogens of pneumonia can be caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella, fungi, and Leptospira, as well as other protozoan infections. The inflammation is controlled and completely cured, but foci of varying degrees of fibrosis and calcification are left behind. Most of them do not affect the normal respiratory function, have no obvious clinical symptoms, and do not require special treatment, and can be observed and reviewed at any time. Only very few of them have the manifestation of malignant occupying lesions, such as bronchial lung cancer and alveolar cell carcinoma. In this case, after clear diagnosis, timely surgical resection, supplemented by comprehensive treatment of radiotherapy and chemotherapy should be performed.
