Hazards of removing stitches from buried eyelids

Sewing double eyelid is burying the suture under the skin, and there is no need to remove the suture after the operation. However, if the patient is not satisfied with the surgical effect or has adverse reactions and chooses to remove the stitches, it may lead to the following abnormalities: 1. Scarring: there is individual variability as to whether or not the skin will be left with obvious incisional scarring after removing the stitches. Generally, the continuous suture buried double eyelid is less traumatic and leaves less obvious scarring, whereas the interrupted method of burying the stitches, due to the larger incision, may result in postoperative scarring, especially in the case of keloidal candidates, the symptoms may be more obvious. 2, the appearance of double eyelid still exists: the early role of the thread knot is to cause foreign body inflammatory reaction, the formation of inflammatory adhesion, so as to form the appearance of double eyelid, when the thread knot is removed, the inflammatory reaction or scar adhesion has been formed, so the appearance of double eyelid is still there, and can’t be restored immediately. Since damage from surgical operations or intraoperative bleeding in the early postoperative period of double eyelid surgery can result in an abnormal shape in the short term, it is recommended that patients do not blindly remove the embedded threads. Generally, the recovery time takes about two weeks, when the swelling and poor shape disappear completely. Three months after surgery, the swelling and scarring will disappear completely and soften. If you are still not satisfied with the shape of your eyelids after three months, you may choose to have the threads removed.
