Double J tube one month or three months

Depending on the purpose of the placement, the time of removal of bilateral double J-tubes varies, ranging from two weeks to several months. A double J-tube is a stent tube placed inside the ureter, which mainly serves to support the ureter, and is usually used after ureteral stone surgery or in cases such as pyelonephrosis due to acute ureteral stenosis. In the case of patients with postoperative renal ureteral stones, the double J-tube can usually be removed via cystoscopy on an outpatient basis within two weeks to one month of the placement of the double J-tube after stone surgery. If bilateral double J-tubes are placed to relieve the patient’s ureteral stricture symptoms, the double J-tubes are either removed or replaced after a few months depending on the patient’s condition. If any discomfort occurs during stent placement, prompt medical attention is recommended.
