Platelet-raising drugs

Common platelet-raising medications include Antabuse, platelet-raising capsules, and caffeic acid tablets. There are also drugs such as interleukin-11 and thrombopoietin. Other platelet-raising drugs are mainly applied according to the primary disease. For example, if it is idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, glucocorticoid therapy can be applied, and immunoglobulin therapy can also be applied. Immunoglobulins are mainly used in cases with particularly low platelets and life-threatening bleeding, or in cases of emergency, such as surgery or childbirth; and in cases where glucocorticoids are not appropriate. In the case of low platelets due to aplastic anemia, immunosuppressive therapy is usually required. In the case of thrombocytopenia due to acute leukemia, systemic chemotherapy is required in most cases. If the platelets are too small, platelet transfusion therapy is also required.
