Adverse reactions to DPT vaccine include fever, fatigue, headache, localized tenderness or pain, and localized rash or hard nodules.
DPT is a childhood vaccine for the prevention of diphtheria and tetanus. DPT is a combined vaccine consisting of a mixture of diphtheria toxoid as well as tetanus toxoid stock solution.
1. Fever, fatigue, headache: clinically common, often a transient low fever (fever below 38 ℃), headache, fatigue. It occurs within three days after vaccination and mostly resolves on its own without intervention. A small number of children will have severe persistent fever after vaccination, which needs to be treated under the guidance of specialized doctors.
2. Localized pain and rash at the injection site: pain and tenderness are usually relieved within 1 to 2 days. Rash can be observed first, if there is a serious allergic reaction needs timely medical treatment, for example, when the rash, nodule diameter <3CM and the child does not cry can be first observed or hot towel compresses.
